Body Pain
Lift, twist, bend, reach, pull, and push with care.
Lower back pain injuries are often associated with these movements. Those most at risk include truck drivers, warehouse personnel, construction workers, heavy manufacturing workers and nurses. Lower back pain disorders are divided into two major diagnostic categories, and many times overlap:
- Disorders involving irritation of peripheral nerves within, or as they meet the spinal canal. These tend to cause chronic pain.
- Disorders involving soft tissue connecting segments together. These tend to cause acute pain and heal quickly.
To treat minor back pain, rest! Find a comfortable position and stay there. Apply ice for 10-15 minutes every hour. Take a mild, over-the-counter anti-inflammatory such as aspirin in BC® Powder Original Formula as soon as you can. For chronic back pain, consult your doctor for treatment.
